Wirecard acquires Travelment internet portal as a client

New internet portal Travelment opts for an extensive payment-package from Wirecard AG

Grasbrunn; Munich, August 20, 2009; the company travelment GmbH, head-quartered in Hallbergmoos near Munich, has opted in favor of an extensive package solution from Wirecard AG, one of the leading international providers of electronic payment and risk management solutions. These range from pro-cessing services and credit card payments, a card acceptance agreement with Wirecard Bank AG all the way through to an innovative Supplier & Commission Payments solution for payouts to service providers.

The new travelment Internet portal is especially designed for SMEs intending to book their business travel speedily and at favorable prices. Using the Internet portal, flights, hired cars, railway tickets and hotel accommodation can be booked in a single step. The processing of geo data enables travelers to be shown the ideal route – from the point of departure to the final destination – not to mention the currently favorable terms and prices. Not only does travelment provide businesses with budget-friendly travel reservations; additional services such as reports and statistics or direct transfers of travel expense data to the accounting department are the perfect complement to the package on offer. A special highlight is that an individual travel profile can be defined for each employee. In this case, reservations are possible only if the selection is in conformity with the approved travel policy guidelines.

In future, all payments will be processed by credit card via the Wirecard AG platform. The necessary credit card acceptance agreement for travelment GmbH was sourced from Wirecard Bank AG, a subsidiary of the Munich-based provider of payment solutions. Moreover, the many years’ industry expertise of Wirecard AG is a key success factor: its “Supplier & Commission Payments” (SCP) solution was especially created for the tourism industry for automated processing of the large volume of payments generated between the individual business partners.

Barbara Hög, Key Account Manager in the Travel and Transport Division of Wirecard AG, explains what concrete requirements with regard to SCP are involved with the contract awarded by travelment in practice: “After the booking entry, many and various payment processes are triggered in the background. Thanks to the integration of the package solution from Wirecard, this is accomplished fully automatically and without any major manual effort."
